PRESS RELEASE | 28 SEPTEMBER 2026
The wait is over: Minas Riders returns to Brazil
The Grande Finale battle takes place inside the famous Mineirão Stadium.
Racing begins on 29 September with a Time Trial, followed by four Offroad Days across Minas Gerais. On 3 October, the riders will face a spectacular Romaniacs-style obstacle course inside Mineirão Stadium, in front of the crowd in Belo Horizonte.
Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 28 September 2026 - Minas Riders is back. First held in 2016 and 2017, the race returns after nine years of riders asking when they could do it all again. On Tuesday, competitors in the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron classes will line up for the Time Trial. By Saturday, those still in the race will have to make it through a final obstacle course inside Mineirão Stadium.
Between these two moments lie four Offroad Days across Minas Gerais. Riders will encounter open grassland, rocks, dense jungle and one and only Brazilian red clay that becomes especially difficult when wet. Each class has its own route and level of difficulty, but every rider will need more than speed. They will need to choose the right way through difficult terrain, get themselves and their bikes out when they’re stuck, and be ready to do it all again the next day.
The race’s return has been more than a year in the making. Organizer Martin Freinademetz, founder of Red Bull Romaniacs, is working with a predominantly Brazilian team. Gianino Coscarelli of the Fast Brothers Motor Club has been a driving force behind bringing Minas Riders back and leads the local crew.
Part of the Romaniacs team has joined them in Brazil, including Andy Fazekas, creator of the iconic Red Bull Romaniacs Prologue, who is building the Grande Final course.
On Saturday, 3 October, the riders will leave the Brazilian wilderness and head for Mineirão. More than 20 man-made obstacles await them inside the stadium. It is a very different setting for the last test of a Hard Enduro race: a course the crowd can watch from the stands, with the competitors’ final efforts playing out in full view. The Grande Final will also feature live entertainment, and three CFMOTO IBEX 450 motorcycles will be awarded during the event. For the first time, Mineirão will also host a motoboy and mototaxi show, with riders taking their working bikes over the obstacle course.
Brazil’s Hard Enduro scene has grown considerably since Minas Riders last ran in 2017. This week, competitors from South and Central America, the United States, Australia and Europe will take it on together, from the first technical sections to the final obstacles inside Mineirão Stadium.
